Product Description

100% Pure Organic Virgin Coconut Oil, Cold Pressed from Fresh Organically Grown Coconuts Oil

The entire production process for this quality organic virgin coconut oil, from palm to plate, takes just a few hours. Coconuts are collected from farmers and the nuts are taken to the processing sites. Locals are employed to husk and remove the coconut flesh using graters. The flesh is dried by turning it on large wood-fired ovens for three hours, before it’s pressed hydraulically to extract the oil. Impurities are removed and buckets of oil are filtered to create crystal clear, Heilala Coconut Oil. This cold pressed method results in a pure and natural, organic, unrefined, raw and highly stable coconut oil. Heilala Virgin Coconut oil includes several compounds that are good for your health, including caprylic acid, capric acid, and lauric acid. Virgin coconut oil contains medium-chain fatty acids (MCT) which are much easier on the body than the long chain fatty acids found in many other cooking oils. Contents will be liquid above 77F and below 77F will be solid. Heilala began as an aid project. It started with a vanilla plantation which was established by a New Zealand family, in partnership with a local family from the village of Utungake in Vava’u, Kingdom of Tonga. Heilala, now partnering with growers throughout Tonga, has had a significant impact on the Tongan economy providing employment and infrastructure across a number of communities. Heilala continues to be focused on strong Fair Trade practices. In 2013, the Heilala Vanilla Foundation was established to ensure the ongoing sustainability of their unique partnership with the community in Tonga. The Foundation is a registered charitable trust with the New Zealand Charities Commission and each year selects a project to benefit the people of Vava’u. Heilala (pronounced Hey-la-la) is Tonga’s national flower and changes color from white to red when in salt water.

– Coconut oil helps fight diabetes

Diabetes is nothing more than an imbalance of blood glucose levels. It occurs when the pancreas can not produce enough insulin (type 1 diabetes) or when the insulin produced does not function properly in the cells due to a body’s resistance to its action (type 2 diabetes).

When one of these problems with insulin occurs, the glucose is no longer absorbed by the cells, which causes elevated blood glucose levels. In Brazil alone, there are over 11 million diabetics, with more than 3 million do not even know they have the disease.
What does this have to do with coconut oil? All. A recent study found that TCM-rich diets, such as those present in coconut oil, protect against insulin resistance.
??Moreover, unlike the MCI contained in animal fats MCT they are small enough to enter the mitochondria – the energy turbines – cell directly , where they can then be converted into energy. This reduces stress on the pancreas (because it requires less enzyme production) during meals, and therefore allows it to produce insulin more efficiently.
Metabolism of the pancreas
For these reasons, simple ingestion of half a tablespoon of coconut oil before meals may cause many diabetics to have their blood sugar fluctuations and their symptoms significantly diminished.
– Coconut oil may improve brain function in Alzheimer’s patients

Alzheimer’s disease is the leading cause of dementia in the world and occurs mainly in older people. The disease is related to loss of cognitive function (memory, orientation, attention, and language), caused by the death or malfunctioning of Brain cells.

Patients with this disease tend to have a lower ability to turn glucose into energy in some parts of the brain. The good news is that the ketone bodies produced during the metabolism of coconut oil in the human body supply energy to the brain, and researchers have suggested that they can provide an alternative source of energy for those defective cells and reduce the symptoms of Alzheimer’s disease.

– Coconut oil does very well for skin

To benefit from coconut oil you do not necessarily need to ingest it. Many people use it for cosmetic reasons and to improve skin health.
?It is an excellent oil massage for all skin types, including the driest. Unlike mineral oil, coconut oil has no adverse side effects and is, therefore, a safe solution to prevent skin dryness and peeling. A study in subjects with dry skin proven that the extra-virgin coconut oil improves hydration and lipid content (which translates into more softness) of the skin.

Due to its antioxidant properties, coconut oil also delays the appearance of wrinkles and flaccidity characteristic of normal aging and helps prevent premature aging. In addition, it helps in the treatment of various skin diseases like psoriasis, dermatitis, and eczema. It is no wonder that coconut oil is the base ingredient of various beauty and body care products like soaps, lotions, and top-line creams.
As if this were not enough, its effectiveness as a sunscreen has still been proven, blocking approximately 20% of the ultraviolet rays.
– Coconut oil strengthens the immune system

Almost half of the fatty acids present in coconut oil correspond to lauric acid. In addition, when the oil is digested by the stomach enzymes, a monoglyceride called monolaurin is formed. Both lauric and monolaurin can kill harmful pathogens such as bacteria, viruses (including influenza) and fungi.
Microorganisms such as Candida (causative fungus infections) and Staphylococcus Aureus (extremely malignant bacteria), for example, are neutralized with the action of these substances.

It is also shown that lauric acid when compared to fatty acids present in the other oils, is one more inhibitory power against gram-positive bacteria ( streptococci, staphylococci, enterococci, Actinobacteria, Listeria, etc.).
And it is not only: because of its bactericidal action, coconut oil can even be used as the mouthwash. That’s right, you did not read wrong. Several studies have demonstrated the prophylactic role of this practice, which also improves dental health and fights bad breath.
– Coconut oil helps reduce appetite

As a byproduct of the metabolism of fatty acids in the liver, solvents are formed (so-called ketone bodies ) with a potential appetite reducing the effect.?

In one study, healthy male subjects were fed varying amounts of long chain triglycerides (LCT ) And average (TCM, like coconut oil). It was found that men fed higher amounts of TCM had a significant reduction in a number of calories required daily compared to those fed TCL. Another study found that individuals who ate more TCM at breakfast ended up eating fewer calories at lunch.

These studies were performed in a short period of time. But they indicate that in the long run, a diet rich in coconut oil can strongly impact body weight.
